Coffee Shop: Part 2

As mentioned previously Amy and I thoroughly enjoyed our experiences at Acoustic Coffee and Tea with Lionel and Anne.  However, we were secretly going to Starbucks as well.  I describe this as a secret because Lionel had a bumper sticker on his Jeep that read, "Friends don't let friends drink Starbucks."

He purchased this sticker at Penny Lane Coffeehouse in Evansville, IN.

Some people are very anti Starbucks while others cannot live without their mainstream coffee service.  We are indifferent; we enjoy both local flavors and the mainstream java.

I lost my Starbucks virginity in Lexington, KY where my cousin Patrick (who is a VIP member) drove, made the appropriate introductions, and paid for my first elaborate cup.  Before then my pallet had only experienced chai lattes and coffee with cream or whole milk.  That night I had a unforgettable mocha latte.  The chocolate notes jumped out of the cup while the rich body finished smooth with a sweet note.

Sounds like a wine tasting, but I have honestly heard people discuss cups of coffee in this fashion.

Over time Amy and I look forward to traveling because we like to choose our route based on Starbucks locations.  It is a win/win for the entire family.  Drinks for adults, drinks for kids, a drive through, a mobile app - what is not to like?

I have now visited many Starbucks and believe they are all efficient works of art.  The tiles on the floor, color on the walls, fabric on the chairs, arrangements on the shelves, and people behind the counter are all an eclectic mix of modern lines with old world charm.  Something I look for in my life.

I recently read an article that helped seal the deal - I am a Starbucks man.

FYI: I own a Penny Lane bumper sticker.  Amy would not let me place it on any of our vehicles so it adorns my filing cabinet at work with my other stickers.
